How to Calculate Baby Growth?
Baby growth can be calculated in two different ways:
1. Based on Last Period Date (LPD):
Estimated Due Date = Last Period Date + 280 days
Naegele Formula: Add 7 days to LPD, go back 3 months, and forward 1 year
This method:
- Is more accurate for women with a normal cycle (28 days)
- It is recommended to use this method in the first 3 months of pregnancy
- The exact date of LPD must be known
2. Based on Ultrasonography Date:
Pregnancy Week = Ultrason Measurements + Elapsed Time
This method:
- Is more accurate in the first trimester (up to 12 weeks)
- Is preferred when the LPD is not known
- Is based on the size measurements of the baby
Weekly Development Features:
- 1-12 Weeks (1st Trimester):
- Organ Development
- Start of Heartbeat
- Finger Development
- 13-27 Weeks (2nd Trimester):
- Gender Determination
- Movement Sensation
- Hearing and Vision Development
- 28-40 Weeks (3rd Trimester):
- Fast Weight Gain
- Lung Maturation
- Birth Preparation
Important Note: These calculations are estimates. Please consult your doctor for the exact due date and pregnancy tracking.
