How to Calculate Target Heart Rate Range?

Two different methods can be used:

  • Karvonen Formula:
    • THR = (MHR - RHR) × intensity + RHR
    • MHR = Maximum Heart Rate
    • RHR = Resting Heart Rate
  • Percentage Method:
    • THR = MHR × intensity

Intensity Levels:

  • Very Light: 50 % - 60 %
  • Light: 60 % - 70 %
  • Medium: 70 % - 80 %
  • High: 80 % - 90 %
  • Maximum: 90 % - 100 %
