How to Calculate the Previous Value Before Decrease?
To find the previous value before decrease, the following formula is used:
Initial Value = Final Value ÷ (1 - Percentage ÷ 100)
Example:
- If $ 80 is decreased by 20%, the initial value is: 80 ÷ (1 - 20 ÷ 100) = $ 100
- If there is a 30% decrease in 35 people, the initial value is: 35 ÷ (1 - 30 ÷ 100) = 50 people
