How to Calculate the Previous Value Before Increase?
To find the previous value before increase, the following formula is used:
Initial Value = Final Value ÷ (1 + Percentage ÷ 100)
Example:
- $ 120 after a 20% increase, the initial value is: 120 ÷ (1 + 20 ÷ 100) = $ 100
- If there are 65 people after a 30% increase, the initial value is: 65 ÷ (1 + 30 ÷ 100) = 50 people
