How to Calculate Percentage Increase?

To calculate the increase of a value by a certain percentage, the following formula is used:

Result = Initial Value + (Initial Value × Percentage ÷ 100)

Example:

  • 20% increase to $ 100: 100 + (100 × 20 ÷ 100) = $ 120
  • 30% increase to 50 people: 50 + (50 × 30 ÷ 100) = 65 people
